How to restore emails to new gmail account from google takeout zip archive?
Hi,
I'm trying to reduce the size of my gmail email. I decided to download all emails before a certain date using Google takeout archive feature. I ended up downloading 2 zip files and one .mbox file. My intention was to restore the emails to a new account.
Search results show any number of third pary apps to accomplish this. I have no idea if they work. I can't believe Google has an archive service with no plan for restoration.
Someone, please help me with this. Thanks in advance.

Import mail and contacts is only for importing from another online email account and not for importing from an archive file from your hard-disk.

Thanks for all your help, and the Pegasus was a great solution.
Pegasus is my main email program - a few tips ...
Make sure to select POP3 User (User Interface > Toolbars).
Press the ? to download email headers only and then choose what to delete (Red X)
then "Make it so" (Like Picard!)
If you don't access gmail with Pegasus for a while (unknown). the permission to
to allow less secure apps will be revoked and you will have to go into
gmail settings to reinstate the option.
