Hybrid Exchange 2010 Server to Full Exchange Online Migration
Hello Team, i have a question for you. I have been supporting an Exchange 2010 environment for 2 years now. We are a hybrid Exchange to Office 365 environment. I am in no way an exchange expert but have been tasked with decommissioning our current exchange 2010 server and going fully to the cloud. Something about moving the send connectors up to exchange online. Does anyone have a resource or can show me how to do this. And would that be all i need to do to move it up to exchange online? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have tried researching google but I am at a loss currently. Also, FYI, not sure if this matters but in order to create a new mailbox in our company, we have to run a powershell command called Enable-Remotemailbox command, so not sure honestly where our mailboxes sit or are hosted. I took over this environment with not much information as to how it was originally setup.

yes
If you have hybrid configure and move mailboxes you don't need to reconfigure Outlook profiles again.

MAS, how can i find out where my mailboxes sit or are hosted at currently? To create a new mailbox i use the enable-remotemailbox command but i am unsure of where it creates the mailboxes? Maybe since we a hybrid environment they are already on the cloud?
If hybrid config is not active your mailboxes are in on-prem server.

Hybrid Config IS ACTIVE. So can i assume that our mailboxes are already in the cloud? how can i verify?
The following command will list the mailboxes in cloud.
Get-RemoteMailbox

OK so i verified that all of our mailboxes are in the cloud already because of our current hybrid environment. So are the send connectors important to note from the old exchange 2010 server or No? before decommissioning it?

If you want you can remove hybrid and uninstall as I explained above.

Microsoft recommends that you have an Exchange on Premise to configure mail settings for users.
If you uninstall Exchange on Premise you can't setup Email Address Policies or additional ProxyAddresses. You will have to do it manually using attribute editor in AD.
With Office 365 Plans you get an free Exchange Server Hybrid Key: http://aka.ms/hybridkey
