Aside: This entire process can take a very long time + might or might not retrieve any usable data.

Better to just drill holes in the disk or run a magneto over it, toss it, replace it, restore a backup.

Doing a clean install + restore of data is usually the fastest way to handle this type of problem.
Sounds like partition data. Corruption.

As prior suggestions made pull the drive and test-disk is an opensource that could get at the data.
The issue is whether you can get the filesystem type updated/corrected to ntfs
gather no backup available to restore the system
often that is caused by a bad disk, so i recommend a disk diagnostic ( NOT CHK Disk in Windows) to ensure it still operates fine - before launching softwares on it
if you post the disk model - i can suggest a specific diag tool

Nobus, it is a PCIe Gen3 X4 NVme

i attached it to an external reader (SSK, M.2 Nvme SSD enclosure she-c325) and can see the other partition but not the c partition.

appreciate all of you all's suggestions.
