Can you install a VMware server on a Windows PC to test
Is it possible to install a Vmware server on a Windows 10 PC.
If so please include a download link. I went to the Vmware website but not sure what to download.

You don’t need to download anything!
You can use Client Hyper-V if you have Windows 10 Pro just add and enable the feature

After installing the feature and opening Hyper-v (which I am very familiar with at my job) it needs to connect to a server. I selected the local computer but it states the Virtual Machine Management service is not running.
I do not see this service in Services.

If it is just for testing VMware server you can install it on a bootable USB drive and boot to that. To do this you can download the VMWare ISO and use the free trial license or get a community edition key.
I did download player earlier. Is player similar to the full VMware?
Robert
Not really the player is just designed for running a single VM inside of an existing OS. The full VMware Server is a lot different.

What I am attempting to do is get a quick CRASH course before an interview for a job I have tomorrow. They know I have no VMWare experience, but I want to let them know I will take the initiative to learn.
Vmware server is quite extensive and takes a while to learn but if you wanted to try it to just know the basic setup etc. I would download the full ISO and do the install to the pen drive then boot to that. As long as you have enough room on the drive you can create a small data store and create a VM on it and install windows or linux on the vm.
