Safe boot HP Sure Start laptop ?

I'm having a hard time booting an HP Dragonfly into safe mode under Win 10. The machine is setup to use the "HP Sure Start" secure boot (?) and no matter what I try it does perform a full boot (which does not allow me to troubelshoot it as it seems some service or software is hangiong the machine).
Yes I know of F4 or fn-F4 or 4 at boot - no effect.
Any advice would be most welcome !

  1. Press Windows logo key  + I on your keyboard to open Settings. If that doesn't work, select the Start  button, then select Settings .
  2. Select Update & Security  > Recovery .
  3. Under Advanced startup, select Restart now.
  4. After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.

Have you tried the above?
reset the machine and press f10 to enter the bios

reset the machine and press f10 to enter the bios
That works but to the best of my knowledge will not allow me to boot in safe mode
since you got into the bios you can disable it there
HP Sure Start ? I might be thick but not sure how... I guess it muss be called something different.

Thanks - but is that the "HP Sure Start" ? I am under the impression that HP Sure start is a proprietary layer that comes atop SGX
In any case whatever I do I don’t see a way to start this laptop is safe mode. I am about to replace the SDD and resintall.
What is the Gen of HP Sure Start?

Any way to tell from the boot image linked above ?
what about my post, Alexandre ?

not relavant I'm afraid as I never get to interact with Windows. My hope would be the Fxx keys at boot, but they won't work.
There is no useful image.

Within Windows search, search for HP and you should see an app for HP Sure Start.

Run the app and you should be able to disable HP Sure Start.
>>  not relavant I'm afraid    << so you did not read it - right?
it contains a method with F11 key - without entering windows
