Need recommendation on 'Who has Access' for Google Drive

Has anyone used 'Who has Access' for Google Drive for tracking to see which files are shared with other users.  I work for a local transportation company.  We use Google Drive to track all kinds of information about our trucks.  Our Google Drive account contains about 1.7TB of data.  I would like to know if any user has shared files with someone outside the company.  I would like to know what files are shared and with whom.

I do not believe that Google provides a feature where it can show you what files are shared and with whom.  I know that there something called 'Who has Access'.  You can go to the 'Who has Access' website and run their program and it will show you what files are shared and with whom (at least that is what I reading).

I would like to know if anyone has used 'Who has Access' for Google Drive  -and-  what is your opinion of it.  Is it safe?  Does it take long to run?  Any information would be beneficial.

Thanks, sla0610 (Steve)

If you go to reports in your admin panel, you can view a log of drive usage https://admin.google.com/ac/reporting/audit/drive?hl=en as well as a summary of usage inside and outside of your domain https://admin.google.com/ac/reporting/report/apps/drive?hl=en

Admin -> Reports -> Apps Reports -> Drive
Admin -> Reports -> Audit Log -> Drive

You can also go to Admin -> Apps -> Google Workspace -> Drive and Docs.  From there you can manage settings for sharing, ability to view usage etc.

Scott,

Thank you for the quick response.  I failed to mention in my description write-up that this is not a G-Suite account.  Our Google account is a non-business user account; it is a normal user account, that has grown way beyond expectations  So, I don't have ability to go to admin/reports/etc... as you mentioned.  My apologies.

Thanks, sla0610 (Steve)
In that case, I think you can only brows your folders and files and look for the icons

If you are growing that big/much and this is a concern, perhaps it would help to get a business account.
I have figured out my issue.  On the left hand side panel, there is a 'Shared with me' icon that shows you the files that are shared.  One I clicked on that, it gave me my answer.

Closing the question.
