MDT TS hangs while installing updates

The updates that are being installed are Intel and HP updates and it tends to hang on one of the Intel updates.  In this instance it is Intel Corporation - Extension 21.70.0.3, but I have seen others hang as well.  And by hang I mean the TS stops for good.  We thought it may be a problem downloading them from the internet so stood up a WSUS server and pointed to it, but we seem to encounter the same issue.  Every once in a while it will finish, but that's not the norm.  Does anyone have any thoughts as to what could be occurring?  As just as a side note, any Microsoft updates install without issue.  It just seems to be the updates from HP and Intel.  This is MDT build 8456.
