Display decimal value without leading zero

How do you display a decimal value (eg three-digit ratio or percentage) without the leading zero?

For example, a baseball batting average is typically displayed as .315 rather than 0.315. However, I cannot get Excel to display the former without changing to Text mode (which I do not want to do).
