what extension did Corel Calendar use in the 90's

Hi, I am trying to find an old Calendar file I used around 97.  I was using an older Corel Calendar program and I don't know what the extension is to search for it.  I don't remember what the file name I named it was either.

My current Calendar dates back to July 2000, but I know I used that Corel program from 96 to then and would like to update mine to make it more complete.

Thanks all, this really isn't that important, but would be nice to have.

This should point you in the right direction:

That looks like a different application, or does "Broderbund Calendar Creator" equal "Corel Calendar"?

Andrew and Bill, yes, I think Calendar Creator was to print out calendars, unless I'm wrong.
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

Dan,

I don't know what the file extension was for that product, but have you tried searching whatever folder(s) or drive(s) where you think the file may be located for files created or updated in 1997?  Not sure how long a list that might produce but you could scan down it and see if any file names ring a bell.

Thanks Bill, it wasn't where 51 year old Dan would have put it, and I'm just not sure what folder 28 year old Dan would have.  I do keep my folder structure pretty easy to nav and it may be I don't have that file any more, or worse yet, it ended up getting zipped up into some archive file.

I hear you.  But there are tools like FileLocator that can search a whole drive for a set of criteria, and even look inside archives...

Yes, but I don't know what extension to look for.

Right, that's why I suggested trying to narrow it down to a date range and scanning the results list of that search.  But if you think that would be many thousands of files in that old time period then maybe that doesn't get you close enough.

Hi Dan

Is it possible that you still have the installation CD for the Corel calendar program?

Do you recall if it was a standalone program or if it was one of the modules in a suite of applications and you perhaps used the custom install option to only install that particular program?

Usually that type of program will install working example that can be used as templates and customised.  Being an old program, it might be possible that such example files would be in a folder on the installation CD and it might help to identify the file type.

I recall using a calendar module and I believe that it could well have been one of the applications of a drawing/image editing or office type of suite by Corel, Jasc, or one of the companies that allowed trialware back then.  I am really not sure whether I would still have the original installation CDs in a box somewhere in my attic or at the back of a wardrobe gathering dust, but I will look for it over the next few days.

BillDL, I don’t I’m really good at keeping software, but that one is a long gonner.  I think it was a stand alone program, yes from a CD.   I was contract working for a school district and I installed some Corel product for them and saw the calendar program and installed it on my computer.
