Unable to connect laptop with external monitor

I'm having issues connecting a laptop with an external monitor. VGA, DisplayPort and DVI are all not working.
When I navigate to the "Project" menu in Windows, the message "Your PC can't project to another screen. Try reinstalling the driver or using a different video card" appears.
I already tried to uninstall the driver and afterwards to install the latest driver, but that did not solve the problem as well.
The laptop is equipped with an NVIDIA Quadro K2100M and the driver with version 392.65 (release date 04/20/2021) is currently installed. The current Windows version is 20H2.

Just to understand it in the right way...
Additional monitors which are connected via an external connector are usually set by the standard display settings.
Some driver vendors also use their own GUI.
Projecting means something different and is connected to another device, like another PC

Hi Guenter,

I had a simular problem; Connecting an extra screen via VGA (D-Sub) did not work.
So I bought a convertor Displayport <=> VGA and that works for me.
Yes, the drivers may be customized by the laptop manufacturer. So the general recommendation is first to check, if the laptop manufacturer offers drivers rather than to install the drivers from the chip manufacturer, which may be more generic.
