I had a simular problem; Connecting an extra screen via VGA (D-Sub) did not work.<br />
So I bought a convertor Displayport &lt;=&gt; VGA and that works for me.

Yes, the drivers may be customized by the laptop manufacturer. So the general recommendation is first to check, if the laptop manufacturer offers drivers rather than to install the drivers from the chip manufacturer, which may be more generic.&nbsp;
