online outlook free question

hi experts,

If you are using outlook 365 and all of a sudden the outlook program crashed and you lost the emails. does outlook store these email online, on a email address that is not a live account

say for example if theyser had created the account on a on microsoft as outlook exchange would the emails be stored seperatetly than imap/pop.  even though the account is a provider isp email not a outlook email.

i just wondering if you can set this up via outlook exchange. as i trying to locate or find out where there emails havd gone. the pc was reset before i can check thd configuration. so i was himkjng if he was using the outlook exchange service maybe his emails are on the exchange setup.

i searched there but nothing to see, seems like when someone set it up, they put the file in a completly different directory hence the backup didnt backup the latest emails :(
as the system was reset :(
