The issue with GPO is the password is included in the GPO or the mechanism you choose to use.
Scope and scale? How many local users do you have? Or do you merely need to update it.
Do you have a GPO the limits, controls users in administrative roles on the local system?

If you need to change the local admin password on domain computers, just use LAPS. It's a Microsoft tool designed for this purpose!
