How to monitor when the internet connection is dropped?

I am using Windows 10, I want to find out when the internet connection is dropped throughout a day for investigating whether is a software caused the internet connection drop. The internet connection used to drop for few seconds and back on, and I can see that the connection icon in the taskbar changed from Wi-Fi icon to a globe icon for 5 seconds, then changed it back to Wi-Fi icon. However, it is very hard for me to keep my eyes on it without using a tool / software.
Is there any software / tool (preferably free) for monitoring the internet connection drop?
