Recent items in Microsoft 365

When I attach a file from Microsoft Outlook, it offers about 10 files then the option to browse. Those 10 files used to be the last 10 files saved. No longer, I have no idea what logic it is now using, possibly, date/time opened? Whatever it is, I am no longer able to save a file, jump on an email and have that file I just saved conveniently at the top of the list.

The 'Recent items' in Windows Explorer also used to sort by last saved, no longer, it is using a different sort logic to Outlook and it might be best  described as 'last time saved first' i.e. if I save a file, then re-save it, the first save since I opened it fixes the time stampt for the 'Recent Items' but the subsequent saves do not.

Does anyone know how to edit the settings of both of these so they sort by 'date/time of last save'?

I'm using Microsoft 365 desktop version 2104, Build 13929.20296, on a PC/windows 10 Pro, version 2004, OS build 19041.985
