The graphic in the signature block was just an object sent with the original email being replied to. These are added using a 3rd party service attached to Office 365 in the cloud. Most company emails have a signature block appended in this manner. Many of our internal emails end up with numerous signature blocks and similar graphics interspersed within email conversations.&nbsp;

Is the Signature logo embedded or linked to your signature?<br />

Most problems like yours are caused by embedded logo image not being able to be downloaded to Outlook for iOS when the email is automatically saved as draft.<br />
<br />
When the draft email is being sent, the logo image is missing from the email and Outlook for iOS believes that the logo image is available locally and hence give you the error message.<br />
<br />
You need to redeploy another signature logo solution using linked logo image and there is no need to download the logo image when the email is saved as draft.

The clue may relate to your Drafts folder.<br />

Ensure you have plenty of free space on where ever (disk) &quot;Drafts&quot; lives.<br />

Also check the machine logs looking for disk I/O errors.<br />

If this is error is sporadic... no other errors anywhere else... only relates to Drafts... my first suspicion would be a disk out of space or a disk on the edge of dying...

The pros of CID attachment is you can still see the Signature logo when the mobile device is offline whereas the cons of CID attachment is the email is larger in size as the Signature logo has to be downloaded before you can see the logo. &nbsp;<br />

CID attachment is an attachment within Outlook for iOS and the attachment has to be downloaded before the reply email is automatically saved inside Draft folder.<br />

The email body is an envelop only. By default, when you fetch an email, only the envelop is downloaded and the attachment has to be downloaded before the draft reply email is saved.<br />

The best practice for signature in mobile device is NOT to use embedded pic for signature unless you give prior advice / education to the users that full download of the email and the embedded pic for signature has to be completed before making a reply. However, in real life situation, user will just forget or ignore your advice.<br />

The above problem is rare when you are using wifi as the network latency is low. But when you are using mobile network, the connection to mail server might be dropped from high network latency and the embedded pic has not been fully downloaded and will give such an error like yours.<br />
<br />
You can do a test to confirm. The test is to send an email with signature logo to your Outlook for iOS. Within the first few seconds in receiving the email using mobile network, disable mobile network and reply to the email but do not send it. Then, enable mobile network and try to reply to the email from the Draft folder.

I have done some playing on a similarly configured device. <br><br>If I send an email to the phone with those signatures attached, then disconnect the device from the internet before opening the email, I do indeed get an email with the graphics missing, so this seems to conform that they are not downloaded with the initial email retrieval. <br><br>I have not, however, been able to reproduce that issue, (or send and email without them, as is another thing a few people have reported). <br>&nbsp;<br>Can you figure out any way that I might reproduce this error?&nbsp;

In working environment, users are replying or forwarding emails and it will create a problem you cannot easily reproduce.<br><br>The emails got larger in size after being forwarded or replied, the larger the email, the more likely there is interruption on downloading the embedded signature logo.<br><br>You need to tell the users how to troubleshoot.<br><br>Whenever the user has encountered the problem, ask them to have a closer look to the emails they are working on. No matter it is mobile or desktop Outlook client, there will be a message on the information bar for the Download Pictures option. Furthermore, every embedded signature is an attachment on its own and if the email has ten signature logo, the same signature logo has to be downloaded ten times.<br><br>After all, only the email content are the thing which is important, not the signature logo.<br><br>To conclude, embedded signature logo has to be avoided if your users are mobile user or love to forward email with all previous emails in the same conversation.<br><br>

I support a site with numerous iPhones running Outlook against Office 356 email accounts, using Exchange Activesync. We are sporadically seeing errors similar to the one below, when replying to emails. In some cases, users are eventually able to reply after multiple attempts, in other cases they eventually resort to copying and pasting the contents of the email into a new one. We do not use S/MIME, and enabling it in Outlook makes no difference.  The object referenced in the error message is just a small graphic that is part of our standard signature block.
We have tried recreating the account, reinstalling Outlook, and even replacing the phone in some instances, however the error keeps recurring, in a seemingly pseudo-random manner.
Were it possible to just disable creation of drafts that may be an acceptable work around, however there seems to be no way of doing this.
The device that threw the error attached was an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 14.4.2  
So, and hints on how to further troubleshoot, or disable drafts?
