asked on error -2147024786 installing office pro on win10 with office 365
I used PCMOVER to move my configuration from my Desktop to a new laptop.
On the desktop, I have Office 365 and Office 2010 bacause I have access programs using adps that are not supported by office 365.
After the move to the desktop, I had Office 365, but not Office 2010, so not Access 2010.
I am trying to reinstall Office 2010 on my laptop, from a download version of Office 2010 I had.
The installation goes on for a while, but ends up with the following error message:
error 25541. Failed to open XML file
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\machine.config, system error: -2147024786
Please help.

Have a look at...
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
if there is really something in there...
Or Control Panel - Program and Features - Turn Windows Features on or off...
There you find Net Framework 3.5 (includes 2.0)

I installed it from the control panel that automatically got the required modules from Windows update.Then I successfully intalled Office 2010 and my adps now work.
