Sharing a Datasore Between Two Vmware environment

We are migrating from an older VMware running ESXi 6.7 to a new one running that latest version of ESXi 7.0. I ideally I would like to move everything to new datastores, but we are running  low on free space on our NFS datastores. Is there any harm in presenting datastores from the old environment to the new one which have more free space? Please note, all datastores are on SSD storage.
