External DNS record

Hi Experts,

We are about to change our website host provider. Within our DNS provider we have a CNAME www record and a blank A (no value) record with an IP address. When we switch providers, I know we will change the www record to the new provider, but do I also change the blank A record (first record in the portal), IP to the new host ipaddress? If it helps our DNS for this domain is provided by Easily, but their tech support is yet to respond to me.

Cheers
DNS

The blank A record is for yourdomain.com . It allows you to get to https://yourdomain.com

Your DNS provider may or may not be your web hosting provider. It could also be your domain registrar or even a different company.

If you change DNS providers, make sure new one has all correct records, then update your domain registrar to point to the new DNS name servers for your domain.
