Not exactly. PHP code has to be executed by the PHP engine first before you can see any output. So most IDE / editors don't have any sort of real-time preview of the result. <br><br>What if your code inserted a record into the database every time it was run, and so a realtime preview was resulting in thousands of records being inserted? <br><br>Or what if your output was the result of multiple different PHP files (a header PHP file, a body PHP file, and a footer PHP file) - the output is all combined together, so the "design view" wouldn't know which file to edit.<br><br>So in general, most editors don't do real-time previews like that of scripting or programming languages.<br><br>That said, there <em><strong>are&nbsp;</strong></em>HTML editors (called WYSIWYG editors) that will let you edit in design view, because there's nothing to execute. It is simply rendered markup. So if you're just looking to design faster, you can do the CSS/HTML first in your WYSIWYG designer, and once it looks right, then you can copy the HTML code over into your PHP environment.<br><br>

So would dreamviewer allow opening the index.php file to view the display page formatting ?<br><br>For example I wanted to change the spelling of section titles - i had to change in source and run the browser to see result and hope spacing was correct.

If you have an Adobe subscription, it may be worth looking at Dreamweaver as that was one of it's selling points. However, it was never really accurate and especially if you are going to make the site responsive. You would really be better off making the leap from coding in that manner to being able to visualize what your HTML will look like and then checking it out in the browser.<br><br>If you are going to be creating a site from scratch, use a responsive grid. Boostrap is one of the more popular grids <a href="https://getbootstrap.com/" rel="ugc">https://getbootstrap.com/</a> and it comes with a lot of other functionality too.<br><br>You should be sketching out how you want your site to appear visually before doing anything. Then start coding. Once that is done, adding your PHP and data function to replace static content is much easier.<br><br>This is a good workflow to use. If you have an issue with the html/CSS/JS not working, you know at this point it is not your PHP code because you are just working with static HTML. &nbsp;<br><br>then piece by piece, start replacing static HTML with dynamic content from your PHP. You will find this much easier.<br><br>To help build your HTML, there are builders like <a href="https://grapesjs.com/" rel="ugc">https://grapesjs.com/</a> that allow you to use blocks similar to Wordpress and quickly build your HTML.&nbsp;<br><br>
