How do I completely remove a Gmail account from a samsung tablet

Google Accounts are added in Settings > Accounts. Did you check there?

I did.   It states that the email was recently deleted, but when I turn the tablet on, it states it cannot sync with the email that was deleted.

Makes no sense.

You cannot uninstall Gmail.    The table requires it.

I found the solution.

Settings, Accounts, Google, select the email and in the top right select the 3 dots and chose "remove account"
