Can't export PST from Exchange 2010?

Ok, it's Exchange 2010 so someone else on my team is trying to get rid of these servers.  But, legal is asking me to recover some mailboxes.  I've been able to export from these server forever, but I can't now.  I ran into this problem on our 2013 servers a few months ago.  I believe the only thing I had to do was to add myself to the the Mailbox Import Export role.  I was removed for whatever reason, so I added myself back.  I still can't export a mailbox.  Below is the error I get.

New-MailboxImportRequest : Unable to open PST file '\\server\e$\DMO\PSTs\dsmith.pst'. Error details: Could not find file '\\server\e$\DMO\PSTs\dsmith.pst'.

Create a share with the appropriate permissions.  Don't use Administrative shares.  (I remember seeing an issue like this with something... MAYBE NOT Exchange, but that's the first thing I'd try).

That's funny.  I'm dyslexic.  I don't know why I wrote import when i was trying to export.  that was it.  thanks!
