AP-LR's, USG, SW8, Cloudkey Gen2 is my setup. now if only the USG was POE I'd onlooy have 1 AC outllet to worry about.

@hypercube<br>Now I understand! My normal WAP install is usually a Meraki solution so everything is managed throught the Meraki console. At this client, they didn't want to have a subscription associated so I just grabbed the Ubiquity.<br><br>I didn't realize the UniFi Controller had to be saved to a stationary computer on-site. I'll give the puTTY a whirl to see if I can re-capture the credentials and re-setup instead of resetting the device.<br><br><br>

UniFi APs don't <u>need</u> a controller for basic (single SSID, no VLAN) configuration.<br><br>The controller doesn't need to be at the site all of the time for the APs to run, but does need to be on the same IP address (or hostname if hostname is used) for the APs to connect to the controller.<br><br>If you have access to teh controller install and can login to it, you can view the configured username and password for the APs.<br><br>I manage multiple sites from my controller, some over VPN, some over the internet, all with L3 adoption.

I documented the ID/PW for administrative access to the device but now when I try to access the device while on-site, it says my credentials are incorrect although I was diligent in documenting IDs/PWs.<br><br>I have found numerous websites with techs having the same issue but most are 2-3 years old. Most website say to reset the device and re-setup but what is to keep this from happening in the future? Also the device is about 12ft off the ground so I cannot access easily.<br><br>Also, I originally setup the WAP on a retired laptop. Is there some setting in the UniFi Controller software that I should have copied to my new laptop?<br><br>Any help is appreciated.<br><br><br>
