1) Maybe you mean by Message-ID: header, which is simple... just search logs on all machines...
Refer to the message Received: header list for machines message has passed through during it's lifetime.
2) Maybe you mean click tracking, in which case you'll rewrite message body URLs to pass through a central tracking URL.
