asked on

Facebook comments visibility

I have a Facebook account which I use very minimally. I am required to participate in a discussion on a Facebook post on a company's website through the comments section. However, I do not want my comments to go as a feed to all my contacts. Is there a way to restrict it? Thanks.

>> You can't do that unless the post is shared by you which you can set the post privacy share to yourself only.
Comments on a post are visible to whoever can see the post (except if you've blocked a user, you will not see their comments). If you don't want to comment something that other people will not able to see it, use a private message instead.

Thanks for your response. I am fine if anyone (including my contacts) visit the actual post and see my comments. However, I do not want to go that as a broadcast to all my contacts.
For example,
1) I go to https://www.facebook.com/healthline/
2) Add my comments to one of their posts

4) However, I do not want that to be broadcasted to all my friends' feed saying "[my name] commented"
5) My intention is to participate in the discussion (rather than private message), but without my contacts getting notified about my activity
