View / Copy Filezilla Password

I bought a new desktop, I do a lot of internet development, I use Filezilla to move files from my local computer to / from the web hosting sites.

I there a way I could copy the passwords & other connection info from my current computer to the new one?

I have had this issue before, as I recall I just had to have the hosting companies I use reset the ftp / cpanel passwords, which often affects my customers as they sometimes use those passwords as well.

Thank You

If you are using Linux, there should be a filezilla directory in your users folder. Just copy that over to your new PC and you should have the complete setup you used before.

Rindi,

You mean on the server? Most of the Web Servers are Linux, I operate on Windows 10. I'll look there on Win 10 as well.

Thanks

I can find nothing seeming to be connected to Filezilla that would contain passwords.

Thank you,

Richard

It should be easy. “Export Site Manager entries” from old computer as a .XML file and import the .XML file in the new computer.

https://www.serpworx.com/filezilla-ftp-password/

To view the user names and passwords, you need to use a notepad app to open the .XML file.

Then, goto https://www.base64decode.org/ to decide the base64 encoded FTP passwords.

No, not on the server. Rather on your PC. If you aren't running Linux on your PC, it will be somewhere in your user profile, but the directory should also have the name filezilla.

Exported XML file & imported into FileZilla on new computer.

Nothing, so it looks like I lost it all.
