They are independent. &nbsp;They can potentially be synchronized if you join your AD with Azure AD and run the synchronization tools.<br><br>Password changes are delayed. &nbsp;If they are synchronized, it still takes 1~15 minutes to get onto Azure and another ~15 minutes before you might see on the server you're connected to, and ~2 hours or more to get to most of the Microsoft servers around the world. &nbsp;The server that runs the synchronization won't necessarily be the same server that your user connects to for authentication. &nbsp;There's delays all around even if you force the delta's manually.<br><br>

Thanks all.<br><br>Yes, I guess that is what has happened. All my other eight users have the same login for both. So, first I will try seeing if the password has had time to propagate. I am determined to have them both be the same. :)

These are all good answers. Unfortunately, I am not the system IT, and I am rather stupid with some of this stuff. This may or may not have anything to do with it, but the basic understanding seems pertinent. Some accounts have an icon for the account that you can sign out of and also an icon above it for sync, which I don't know if it should be on or not. Which is the best way to set it up. Sorry, I am a bit dense on this. Much depends on where you are sying the sync option.<br />
Sync of content is not the same as configring the O365 account to synchornize login credential data.<br />

The two maintain different type of information.<br />
<br />
i.e. on the phone app, the sync will deal with synchronizing data in the mailbox and not login credential data.<br />

You can test it using your own account. On the windows network, change your password.<br />
Try accessing the O365 with the new password. If you can login with the new password, the system is setup to sync credentials. if it is not, the two passowrds are maintained by the user who has to update each one if they want to maintain uniform credentials between these two sites.

I believe every answer would have worked. I did it the simple way. Logged into O365 or Microsoft365 as an admin and changed her password to be the same as her login to the RDS server.&nbsp;

User can log into their account but the same password does not work to log into Micrososft 365
