SQL Server connection string:<br>Provider=MSOLEDBSQL;Server=myServerAddress;Database=myDataBase;UID=myUsername;PWD=myPassword;<br><br>In SSIS your user should use it.<br><br>On myServerAddress in the database myDataBase create the SQL Server Login "myUsername" with password "myPassword" and grant to that user access to tables and other objects as required.<br><br>GRANT SELECT ON aTable TO myUsername;<br><br>or you can create a Database Role:<br>CREATE ROLE ssisUsers AUTHORIZATION db_securityadmin;<br>GRANT SELECT ON aTable TO ssisUsers;<br>and include users in it:<br>ALTER ROLE ssisUsers ADD MEMBER myUsername;<br><br>It is convenient if you have more than one user with similar access rights.<br>&nbsp;<br>You also can do the same for Windows Logins as well.

SQL Server has import from Excel into Table:<br>Right Click on a DB -&gt; Tasks -&gt; Import -&gt; Source=Excel -&gt; Destination = SQL Server Table -&gt; Save SSIS package (you can schedule it later or execute by request). It does not requite VS - just SSMS (SSMS is VS based nowadays).<br><br>After the import you can process the imported table or change column type (if data is ok). &nbsp;

Yes, but the client wants an automated import and one that is "timed". &nbsp;That's why they would like configuration and setup of SSIS.
