IBM ISeries Line Speed Test

Hello:

Does anyone know what is the best way to test the ethernet line speed on a ISeries? I would like to verify that we are getting the correct speed. Preferably, I would like to test speed between two ISeries systems that we have (one located here and the other in a remote location). Thanks!

I typically use iperf (iperf3) to test connection speeds between 2 computers on a LAN

Thanks, Robert. The two systems are not on the same LAN. We connect over the internet. We had a line upgrade from 50Mbps to 100Mbps and I wanted to verify that were are getting close to that speed.

You could still use that tool assuming you open a port in the firewall for the communication.

You can use just regular ping:

TraceRT shows all nodes and speed between them - it allows to find the slowest:

Ping and traceroute don't measure throughput, just response time.
