require home broadband router with good firewall so as to restrict internet usage for only particular College/University and classes web sites for my children and block access to you tube, hotstar , movie channels etc

Not as advanced, you're dropping immediately to the one checkbox type of options, which basically means, it's worthless.
The cheap + flexible solution.
1) Place your DSL/Fiber modem in bridge modem + disable all WiFi on modem.
2) Route packet flow into a Linux machine.
3) All Linux machine to for traffic shaping + QOS (quality of service).
4) Connect all WiFi networks to Linux machine.
If you're working with large number of users, having the granularity of Linux packet control is useful.

If you're working with large number of users, having the granularity of Linux packet control is useful.
You are using parental controls this means that you as the parent are the administrator on the device and the child is a standard user.
You can configure your router to use a different dns provicer i.e. Cisco Umbrella (OpenDNS) that is configured to your parental control liking.
