asked on

workspace/xenapp W10 problem

Is there a general checklist of things that can ‘break’ a previously working citrix xenapp connection. E.g. patches/other. Our remote access facility requires users to have citrix receiver/workspace installed on their home PC’s, they visit a specific login page, enter domain credentials, answer an MFA request and login. Since around 10 days ago, half the workforce can still login fine, others are presented with a cannot complete your request error and they cannot login to their citrix desktop based on xenapp servers.
As the users are using personal Windows 10 computers, there are limited checks that can be performed, so from experience a list of "events" or "factors" that could break things would be useful as a checklist to rule possibilities in or out.

Check the Citrix Delivery Services logs on your Desktop Delivery Controllers for any errors that indicate what the issue may be.

Can you access by hitting Storefront internally as one of the problem users? If the answer is yes, you may have issues with your NetScaler/ADC (or whatever perimeter device you use)

Were any of the infrastructure servers changed?

thanks, I will ask our citrix specialists to check the logs and ask the affected users to attempt that test.

Is the theory of "recent windows updates" on the end users PC's possibly causing problems a long shot (clutching at straws) in your experience?

If it works direct via Storefront then the problem is on the NetScaler/ADC/perimeter device

Any theories what kind of common problem occur on the netscaler if its only affecting a small representation of the user base.

Not a NetScaler expert or even a dabbler, but I'd check if it can communicate with AD, the VDAs, Storefront and the DDCs in the first instance.
Virtualization
Virtualization

Virtualization is the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including (but not limited to) a virtual computer hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or computer network resources. Virtualization is usually the creation of a system that executes separate from the underlying hardware resources, or the creation of an entire desktop for systems located elsewhere, similar to thin clients.
