Specific user profile can't detect 2nd monitor in Windows 10

Created a new domain user by copying an existing administrator profile. Logged in on a workstation being used by the original administrator account. Windows 10 easily detects and configures 2 monitors. Switch user profile to the new profile that was copied and it will only detect a single monitor - this is on the same workstation. When you toggle between the 2 users the original administrator profile sees 2 monitors and the copied profile sees only 1 and will not detect a 2nd monitor at all. This is a Server 2012 Essentials environment and domain.

Did you copy the user in Active Directory or just copy their user profile folder on the local drive?

It was copied from within Active Directory.
If you create a new user, does it do the same thing?
I accessed AD on their server.
  • There is a user account that displays 2 monitors properly on this machine. Call it UserA
  • Renamed the account that had been created by copying UserA and then disabled it. Call it UserB.
  • Created a new account using the same name as originally used for UserB. Call it UserC.
  • Accessed the workstation and rebooted it.
  • Logged in using the new user profile UserC and the result was the same.
  • I can toggle back and forth between the new account UserC and UserA . UserC displays only a single monitor while UserA displays 2 monitors on the same machine.
Turned out that a video adapter was causing this issue. Changed the adapter and now both users can see 2 monitors. Never expected the issue to be a hardware issue since it seemed directly affected by the user profiles and nothing else.
That is really strange, but at least you got it worked out.
