Need help adding a trend line to line graph in Power BI Desktop

I'm trying to add a trend line to the following graph and cannot find a way to do this.  I have added trend lines to previous graphs without a problem and thought the solution was to turn the title for the Y axis off which makes the line style box appear, and then select the desired line style.  That no longer works.  I've watched several videos on the Power BI Community website for this but their solutions are based on older versions of Power BI.  My version is dated May 2021 and the interface is much different than older versions.

I would appreciate any suggestions for how to turn the trendline property on.

Your problem may be in how you have defined your X-Axis.  See the attached article.

Tom: thank you for your response.  My X axis is shown as the article recommends (continuous, not categorical).  My date field is formatted as m/d/yyyy, same as what I've used before.  While this doesn't solve my problem I made a copy of the article for future use because it contains good information.

Subodh:  Thank you!  That is exactly what I was looking for.  I don't know why I didn't try that icon but I'm grateful for your help!

Looking further into it, your problem may be in the month-year axis.  I had a similar problem while testing, and changed the axis from month-year to year.  After doing this, my trend line option showed up.

Sorry I didn't see this had been resolved.

Thanks for the advice.  So far my trend lines are appearing without any modification to the date field.
You're welcome! Glad I could help.
