How can I prevent potential freelancers that I invite to connect with me in WhatsApp from knowing my cell phone number?

Many Freelancers like WhatsApp for communication with people in the US, but from what I can see so far, there is no way to prevent WhatsApp freelancer contacts that I invite to connect with me from knowing my cell phone number used to establish my WhatsApp account.

This causes me some concern, so I thought I would just go get a Google Voice number and tie that to WhatsApp instead. Unfortunately, Google Voice gives me an error that says "This phone number can't be used to sign up for a Google Voice number. Try verifying with another number."

Are you kidding me? I can't use an ATT phone number that I have had for over 10 years?

What should I do here?

The objective remains the same and that is to prevent WhatsApp invited freelancers from knowing my cell phone number.

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

Okay, whatsapp business is free and does provide a way for me to share a link to communicate without sharing my phone number.

I haven't tested it yet to see whether or not they can see the phone number but at least the link doesn't contain it.

This is definitely a big win and I can tie it to my existing cell phone.

Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google, based on the Linux kernel and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Android's user interface is based on direct manipulation, using touch gestures that loosely correspond to real-world actions, such as swiping, tapping and pinching, to manipulate on-screen objects, along with a virtual keyboard for text input. In addition to touchscreen devices, variants of Android are also used on notebooks, game consoles, digital cameras, televisions, automobiles and other electronics. Applications are usually developed in Java programming language using the Android software development kit (SDK), but other development environments are also available, including Delphi, Ruby and Visual Studio (using C++).
