How you arrange this depends on which OS you'll assign maximum performance, as any VM will eat up most performance.<br />

One approach.<br />
<br />
1) Place your DSL/Fiber modem in Bridge Mode + Disable all WiFi, as most ISP modems WiFi is slow + glitchy.<br />
<br />
2) Connect a Linux box as your DMZ to run your firewall + traffic shaping (QOS using tc) for all other machines + devices... for example, if you're running several Roku streaming devices + also require VOIP calls, which should likely have priority, as the Rokus will buffer well + VOIP calls degrade fast when connections slow.<br />
<br />
3) Now run all your Linux code on your Linux machine at full speed.<br />
<br />
4) Then connect other Windows or Linux machines as required, which will also run at full machine speed.<br />
<br />
5) Since all machines are NAT'ted, all in/out packet flow will show up as flowing through your assigned static IP.

All the above said, what you're attempting to do with a static IP may or may not work.<br />

1) Many ISPs block incoming connections, so you can run all the Webservers you like + no traffic will ever reach them.<br />
<br />
2) All ISP IPs are RBL'ed... globally... so you'll never be able to get much email delivered (likely 0 delivery).<br />
<br />
So you're first consideration is OS performance.<br />
<br />
You're second consideration relates to if you can actually accomplish what you're trying to accomplish.<br />
<br />
For example, if your goal is to send a single email... likely this will fail...

2) Do all upstream ISPs allow #1.<br />
<br />
3) Do global RBLs allow #1.<br />
<br />
Static IPs are only meaningful if they can be useful.<br />
<br />
Refer to the several recent EE questions about &quot;Static IPs being unable to deliver any email&quot;, which all traced back to using either a home or business static IP which was on global RBLs so no email will ever deliver.

Difficult to imagine you can achieve this price point with Windows.<br />

So if price is your primary determining factor, stick with Linux.
