asked on

How do I turn off the 911 Emergency call on my iPhone 12?

I just got an iPhone 12 Pro Max.  Periodically I accidentally call 911, which is very embarrassing.  I was told to go to "Emergency SOS" under Settings, but I can't find it.  Please help.

What buttons are you pressing on your iPhone to accidentally make the call? The solution may be to simply remap them to do something else.
Try:
Open your iPhone Settings.
Scroll down and tap Emergency SOS.
Toggle the Auto Call switch to the off position.

I have no idea what was causing the calls - I evidently accidentally push the call button combination when taking the phone out of my case.  But it's all good now.  Thank you.

One of the ways to dial the emergency number is pressing the power button 5 times. Then a slider on screen needs to be used to dial. You can also hold power and one of the volume buttons. Both should not happen by accident.

Apple OS

Apple's early computers ran on a variety of operating systems, including a Pascal version and one based on CP/M, before releasing its ProDOS with the advent of its 16-bit computer. With the release of the Lisa, which had its own OS, Apple and computing entered the graphical age; it was followed by the Macintosh, which offered a series of "System" operating systems. Other Mac operating systems included PowerPC until Apple acquired NeXT and folded it into the Mac OS. Current operating systems for Apple devices are Mac OS-X and iOS.
