How to map the Windows 10 workstation to a Windows server 2003 server
I have a situation where I have an older Windows server 2003 standard and several new Windows 10 workstations.
- I get an SMB error message when I try to map drive from the Windows 10 workstations to the Windows server 2003
- I know there was registry fix or even a how to fix to allow a successful mapping but I can't recall. I couldn't find it anywhere on the experts exchange database
Any help would be appreciated

What are the build number of your Windows 10 workstations?

This is only a temporary solution. We are retiring this old server. I've already set up and have a Windows server 2016 standard on the network. We just have data that we need to access from the old server tell we transition everything over to the new server

Rindi, thank you for your help. I promise, we won't be using this Windows server 2003 too much longer
Or just restore the data on that ancient server to your new server. That is much wiser than exposing that old thing to the rest of your LAN. Stop all access to it, move the data, if necessary create a new share, make sure the share is loaded on the PC's, and you should be fine.

That's the plan to move all data to the new server. Problem is timing. There's a lot of data on the old server. There also mappings and redirections for scans, faxes, etc. the new server cannot be named the same as the old server while on the network.
