Change company network file location for Sage 50 2020

If the company folder/file server network location has changed, how do you correct the file location on the client stand-alone installed versions so that you don't get a missing file error when starting Sage 50?

You just need to make a full copy of the folder on the network and copy it to where you want the files to be on the client stand alone and then go to Add Company from the start-up screen

And then Open the company from the network location- point to to the folder where the Sages company files are on the client stand alone.

Alternatively you can use Sage Backup/Restore which is safer and more reliable.

I can't get a startup screen, because Sage 50 gives the following error when starting.

Can you uninstall and then re-install Sage on the client PC?

Was trying to avoid that, because I have to do it for 5 PC's
If it doesn't help, try to map a temporary folder name it as Z and open Sage and see it it bypass the error message.
Why don't you change the network share z:\ to point to the new location
net use z: /delete
net use z:\ \\newserver\newshare ?
David suggested a good idea.

If it's a new share then map that to a drive letter.
Have users open Sage 50 then --> Open Existing (ignore the previous list) --> Navigate to the new drive letter --> Open the Company file.

The next time the user opens Sage 50 the new location will be listed first in the Previous Company Files pane.

EDIT: Basically the manual way of changing that .INI file mentioned above. ;)
