SAN storage's size increase strangely

Dear EEs, my SAN storage is filling up very quickly. From the 09th July; I run a consolidate disk of a problematic VM (about 7TB in size) and I stopped the process last hour. I'm not sure if the consolidate involved here? Can you kindly suggest to reduce the store's size?

Is this VMware or Hyper-V?

Check and see if there are any snapshots/checkpoints on any of the VMs. That is the usual culprit for high storage usage.

Remove them.

Hi Philip, it is VMware.

@Andrew: if so, when I clone the VM, I have to prepare the destination 's storage size, dont I? How can I estimate the total size? Or just the sum of all snapshots and base disks?
CLONE the VM you will just need the same storage space as the VM without snapshot eg parent disk size

Have a read of my EE Article

"As you Delete the Snapshot, it will use up SAN storage, until the process is completed, and the original file is removed.
If you think about it you have a 7TB parent disk, and a snapshot size of x GB/TB ?  all those changes need to be written into a new parent disk of 7TB, and then the old parent removed,. "

So we need total of 14 TB in current datastore in case of consolidate? how can I check if I can delete the additional 2 TB by somehow? as I canceled the consolidate process when it stuck at 1%
