Is there any way to use "File on Demand" feature of OneDrive on Windows 7/Windows server 2012(R2)?

Hi,

I'm using OneDrive on my windows 7 machine and found that "File On Demand" feature is not working as it should be. Whereas on Windows 10 this feature is working as expected. Files are visible on OneDrive folder even though I have chosen that file to store only on cloud and not on the local drive.

Is there any way I can use "File On Demand" on windows 7 or windows server 2008/2012(R2)?

Regards,
Sudhanshu

OneDrive on Windoze 7 was something additional you had to install, On Windoze 10 it is much more integrated & practically a part of the OS.

Besides that, Windoze 7 has been EOL for quite some time, besides the M$ AV updates you don't get any other security fixes or updates for it anymore. In my point of view it is a big risk keeping on using Windoze 7. You should really upgrade that PC to Windoze 10.

If I'm not mistaken, provided your Hardware supports Windoze 10, you should still be able to upgrade for free, even though M$ said they had removed that option a long time ago. I have certainly done upgrades for free way after that, last time was probably less than an Year ago...
