Connection string to Oracle Database

I am looking to set up a connection from my CRM to an Oracle database.
I have installed the Oracle Client on the CRM Server but an struggling with the connection string. Can anybody advise me on the syntax please?

This is what I am trying:
Server=10.99.9.999;database=dbname;uid=dbowner;pwd=password;driver=Microsoft ODBC for Oracle

Getting this error:
ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Open in new window

The ODBC driver is installed on the CRM server and I am using the database name defined in thr tnsnames.ora.

Thank you.

Thanks very much for the response and info. It sounds exactly like the solution I need.
I've downloaded the basic version with the odbc add-ons.Sophos is preventing me from installing right now but I will get this sorted and I'm confident that your recommendations will resolve my issue.

Many thanks.
