Moving to a new DNS provider - Azure copy paste all records - DMARC not found
Hi, some questions please
Has anyone moved their domain to Azure DNS. If so can you simply copy and past "all" records
dkim, dmark, spf etc.?
This is what we have done copied exactly - when I re-delegate our domain to Azure I run a MX toolbox check against dmarc and it says no dmarc record found
Do you need to rekey to create new keys in o365 tenant? can you just copy paste from old dns server to azure dns?
Also on the keys its not clear if you have to copy the public key and put the key into the dkim dns record? - if you do what do you call the record (hostname)?
from what i understand you just create secector1 and 2 txt records - that then link to o365? 9no keys actually in the txt record? - is this correct?
how can i check my records will work without doing the redelegation in the registry?
thanks

How did you copy? With or without the quote, i.e. " " ?

Thanks my colleuge did it when i copy out the dmarc record from azure and previous provider and put both into notepad to compare they are exactly the same. So id say he copied with the quotes. Is this significant then. Are you meant to do with or wothout quotes ? Thankyou

oohh - really thanks :) May I ask why? If it needs quotes in the other DNS provider why does azure dns not need them?
Is this just for dmarc record or all others like dkim spf etc?
cheers

dmarc record or all others like dkim spf etc?
SPF and TXT (DKIM, DMARC) records.
If it needs quotes in the other DNS provider why does azure dns not need them?
I do not know why. Maybe you can ask Microsoft Azure Team.
