ipad Windows Domain/Server share access?
Hi all
I have a user that would like to connect his ipad directly to shares on a windows domain. I have a second option where I can install a sonicwall vpn client - rdp to a computer in the office and connect. Just trying to find out if it is something that is doable/recommended - I do not want to enable smb on the server. Not worth touching the server for one user.
Thanks

Hey Kimputer!
Thanks for the AMAZINGLY fast response. Do you know off-hand the name of the recommended vpn client for the Mac platform, it was called something else other than NetExtender. I prefer to go this route.
Thank you!

If sonicwall has a VPn client for the iPad it will be in the apple store...

Even though you said you didn't want to enable SMB on the server, which it already is anyway (otherwise the computer in the office wouldn't be able to use the server). But productivity wise on Apple you either go full cloud, or remote control a PC, as the iPad itself is too limited. On an Android, you could do many more productive things.
So what you suggested yourself, is the way to go.
