You already described the most safe and productive way of working<br>Even though you said you didn't want to enable SMB on the server, which it already is anyway (otherwise the computer in the office wouldn't be able to use the server). But productivity wise on Apple you either go full cloud, or remote control a PC, as the iPad itself is too limited. On an Android, you could do many more productive things.<br>So what you suggested yourself, is the way to go.
