here  5 top softwares The Best Backup Software | PCMag
i suggest to try each one ( they usually have a freeware version) and see which one you feel comfortable with
I have tried several, but one stands out - and it is even free:

Standalone Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows FREE

It has all features including bare metal recovery.
itried downloading it but it asks me to put in social media account data?
can i download it without this?
That's an option if you have, say, a LinkedIn account you wish to use.

Just register a Veeam account using your e-mail account. That's what I did.
so it cannot been downloaded without account ?  then i don't want it
they keep making things more complex - in order to keep more control over us  - what i dislike
Oh my. Get over it.

Veeam pass out for free the best backup software you can get for any money (yes), and you don't even want to pass a mail address in return. It doesn't make sense.
why must everybody have my data ?  tell me - for FREE products mail adress  i can accept, but not my password
It is not "your" password, it is a password - for a Veeam registration use a new password you don't use otherwise.

This is to prevent that not everyone else could sign on using your e-mail address.

If you have a LinkedIn or Microsoft account, use that. Veeam will never see your password, only that you have valid credentials.
i have no accounts and don't want them - but thanks for the clarification - i was wrong there

you said: get over it  - ok. but what with all the people that got robbed on the internet, and whose data were spread without contsent?  shoulmd i GET OVER THAT  also

so which one then
test several out -  and see which one you like - "best" = different for everyone
I agree with nobus, check for yourself.  I have one I like and use but that was for me the best of those I tested.

ps.  Test a complete system backup and restore to an unformatted hard disk.  I've had discs fail a few times and if you can't do that then making backups was wasting your time.
