Spinning wheel of death when logging into local admin account on MacBook Air

I have a macbook air that initially has a root account, local admin account and also joined to our 2012 Microsoft on prem DC.  For some reason I am having macbooks returned to my department that when they log in it takes their password and then just spins.  Never stops.  Don't know of any changes that were made through our MDM called addigy so I am stumped.  The only account that works is the root account.  No local admin or AD accounts work.

Disconnect your internet/ethernet and see if that changes things.

With Wi-Fi off only account that works is Root.  No others.
