Anyone find Microsoft pushing the weather app recently a security concern?

Noticed several months ago Microsoft began pushing the weather app shown below. We uninstall by going to Start / Weather / Uninstall yet it continues showing up in the bottom right application tray.
Only way to make it go away is go to "News and interests" and select "Turn Off"
Our concern is years ago Microsoft had issues when either their weather app was configured, or possibly I can't recall now if it was a 3rd party app. This was years ago. Either way, it doesn't seem like something I care to have on my clients professional networks with all the ransomware and other cyber attacks increasing. Risk vs reward we feel it's better to remove.
If it's not an option to remove completely are there ways to block incoming and outgoing ports in the firewall?
