<br>&nbsp;I don't know if it's related, but TV is in the process of shutting off all versions prior to 11 on Sept 21.<br><br>&nbsp;Past that point, TV 10 and prior will only work on a local LAN. &nbsp; If you just recently downloaded that and it's a new ID, that block may already be in place.<br><br>&nbsp;I know on my older installs, I'm getting a warning, and even more annoying, which I can't believe they did, they are limiting connections to five minutes. &nbsp; I'm really PO'd at that. &nbsp; I've got a commercial license and I should not have to deal with that.<br><br>Jim.

see whether it makes a difference? potentially, unless he configured teamviewer to start with windows, it might not be running when you are trying, though if he provides you the id/password it must be running.<br />

is he telling you what the ID/password are or he sends you an image of what they are?

Out of the box, install, other than a prompt that might come from allowing teamviewer through the firewall, there is no need to make changes/adjustments....<br />

another option, when your brother connects to you, confirm the ID to what you were given to make sure they match.<br />
The ID should be straight forward. triggering a prompt for a password. if you get a message the PC is not found, I would think the ID typed in is wrong.<br />
fast typing at times results in typos.<br />

Try asking for a picture of the teamviewer screen.

You know, it's probably time for a support call/e-mail to Team Viewer.<br><br>Really, it should not be that hard to get it working, and after Mike's last comment, this feels more like a bug somehow that anything you are doing wrong.<br><br>The TV folks should be able to pin it down quickly if you are reaching a master server and getting a route to your brother. &nbsp; They also might be able to erase his ID and let it set it back up.<br><br>&nbsp;Maybe it got re-used for some reason and it's pointing to a computer that no longer exists (again, thinking along the lines of Mike's last comment).<br><br>Jim.

It is not common, but depends where it is.<br />
Setting a lease time this low deals with high-turnover location to avoid exhausting &nbsp;ip resources.<br />
The lease of the ip would/should not be impacted in such a way.<br />
I.e. A connection should be established if the lease lapses, the connection might abruptly term/reset. But the issue you are reporting, is unexplainable.<br />

Since the listing includes ipv6, see if disabling ipv6 in the network adapter makes a difference.

you mean it was in c:\program files\TV as an example, and you copied it to d:\program files\TV?<br />
possibly the DB to which TV logs access was in accessible and it was denying the attempt because of thatpermissions/...<br />

no way to tell. <br />

process monitor from systinternals is one way to debug such things. launch the process. add a filter to the process monitor to only look for this application's call attempt the connection and see when it runs into an issue and why..<br />
<br />
THe other is to use windbg in a similar fashion attach to the process and see what it is trying to do and when it errors out, review why it is running into an issue, i.e. access denied to a location, ... etc.
