Why not just upgrade your XP VM to Windows 10 and update your Excel. &nbsp;If you wfant to keep the old XP VM for a while, just clone or duplicate it or you can install a new Windows 10 VM in Parallels, then install a newer Excel.<br><br>

Thanks, I'm considering doing that and while I think Parallels Desktop is a very good host, I'd like to know what the best native Mac solution might be given that I'm heavily into VBA, userforms, etc.

Mac Office has been behind Windows since the late 1990s when Microsoft finally started concentrating on Windows after Word 6. &nbsp;2016 was when they finally started synching up, but still not fully. &nbsp;If you need VBA, running the Windows version is still going to be the best way forward. &nbsp;Everything else is going to be a poor hack.

Windows OS

Microsoft Windows XP is the sixth release of the NT series of operating systems, and was the first to be marketed in a variety of editions: XP Home and XP Professional, designed for business and power users. The advanced features in XP Professional are generally disabled in Home Edition, but are there and can be activated. There were two 64-bit editions, an embedded edition and a tablet edition.

Microsoft Excel topics include formulas, formatting, VBA macros and user-defined functions, and everything else related to the spreadsheet user interface, including error messages.

Microsoft Excel

Office 365 is a group of software plus services subscriptions that provides productivity software and related services to its subscribers. Office 365 allows the use of Microsoft Office apps on Windows and OS X, provides storage space on Microsoft's cloud storage service OneDrive, and grants 60 Skype minutes per month. Office 365 includes e-mail and social networking services through hosted versions of Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, SharePoint and Office Online, integration with Yammer, as well as access to the Office software. All of Office 365's components can be managed and configured through an online portal; users can be added manually, imported from a CSV file, or Office 365 can be set up for single sign-on with a local Active Directory using Active Directory Federation Services.

Microsoft 365

Microsoft Office is an integrated suite of applications that includes Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and InfoPath, along with a number of tools to assist in making the individual components work together. Coding within and between the projects is done in Visual Basic for Applications, known as VBA.
