Cannot connect file to Virtual box - UUID conflict
My client has a Dell 7010 computer . The Virtualbox version is 6.1. The host operating system is Windows 7 Pro . The guest operating system is Windows 2000 .
- There is a .vdi file named Hdisk.vdi attached to this vm. It’s connected to a SCSI controller. I want to attach a different file named Hdisk.vdi.
So, I navigated to storage , removed the Hdisk.vdi and then tried to attach the other hdisk.vdi.
Virtual box says it cannot do this because there is a UUID conflict.
This must be a common problem.
I am not a computer expert. Please tell me in detail how I resolve this UUID conflict. Or send me a link which describes the process.
Thank you.

Peter, people run old os's not because they want to, but because they have to.
Potentially the software they are comfortable with is old and they do not see a need or found a newer one for which it is worth while buying.
i.e. don't fix what is not broken.

Arnold,
It is understandable that the existing OS is have all the relevant software running inside and it is not worthwhile to re-install everything on other new machine/server.

arnold's link should take you through this but omits that you should open the CMD window using "Run as administrator"
The screenshot doesn't clearly show that the command uses the path to the .vdi you want to change the UUID on.
It's a lot for someone you describes themselves as "I am not a computer expert. " so feel free to post for clarification below.

Can you try to attach one optical drive to the VM by further selecting the relevant .iso file for the guest VM?
