Best all around Anti-Virus software
Hi,
was just looking to get some thoughts on the best all around Anti virus app.
looking for thoughts on the better app as well as thoughts as to whether they slow down system performance?
I currently have a Mcaffe, which was pre-installed, but since expired.
I just wondering if I should renew or if there is a better alternative?
thank you

Either just use the built-in Windows Defender or get any free AV scanner. All real-time AV will slow down your system because it scans your files just as you start to load them.

Antivirus is like ice cream. Everyone has a favorite flavor. It's also LARGELY INEFFECTIVE. Just upload a sample of malicious software to www.virustotal.com and watch as 50-80% claim the file is ok! And it's not like it's the same 50-80% every time. That said, you should have it because something is better than nothing, but if you think it's going to protect you from infection, think again. It may... if you're lucky... but there a very good chance it won't REGARDLESS OF WHICH ONE YOU USE.
