Extending phone rj11 connection

I have a bed alarm for my mother, who is 90, to keep her from getting up at night unsupervised. The pad connects to the alarm box via an ri11 phone cord.

I don’t use my internal house wiring and was wondering if there was a way to extend the alarm to my room as opposed to next to her bed.

Not sure if I need anything cross wired but a simple test of a spare phone cord didn’t recognize the device.

Thought someone might have some suggestions?

Maybe your phone extension cable is just 6P2C rather than 6P4C or 6P6C. Plug body is the same for all three but they have different amount of wires connected. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modular_connector#6P2C

Would that mean impossible or difficult to pair up?  Or is this something a novice might be able to sort?

So if they are, what else might prevent it from working?
And I’d they’re not, how likely is it that this suggestion works?
Just wondering if it’s worth trying this out based on an unknown degree of possible success…
Off-topic I know, but that's a very handsome beard you are sporting now :-)
😂 thanks!

That extension has got all 6 wires so it should work whether 2, 4, or 6 wires needed. I can't think of any reason that wire would not work unless it's damaged. There is a distance limit of course since wires have inductance and capacitance so the signal gets weaker with longer wires but 5 or 10 metres is trivial.

I give up. Unless you mangled the middle of it by rolling a chair over it it ought to work with that lead. Excellent camera work BTW, focus on the plug rather than grain of wooden bench.
Ah well - thanks for the help.  It's a distance of just across the hall - but I don't know how it's wired inside the wall.
Was worth a shot.
Please confirm that the photo is of the non-working extension rather than the working cable.
That’s the cable that is attached to the bed alarm
I mapped the wires from the cat 5 to those 6, but no good.

There are converters that you can use to run 6p6c over Ethernet - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273571434658?hash=item3fb220d0a2:g:0~UAAOSwmDZb9NYb
